I used like 10 hours just to visit 4 places. ROFL.
I spent half the time sleeping in the car while Esa drove us around.
Tanah Lot is one of Bali's most famous temples and its a very touristy place.
Lots of ppl flock here to view the sunset. Or should i say everyone? Go and read reviews and you will realise almost everyone will recommend you stay and experience the sunset yourself.
Well, so do i.
You haven visited Bali if you didnt visit Tanah Lot. No, i am not kidding.
HAHA. Its one of the iconic structures.
I told Esa that i wanna walk around the place and witness sunset without rush. I think we reach at about 430pm?
One of my to-do-list is to witness sunset at Tanah Lot.
Bali is one of the perfect places on Earth to witness sunset because of the horizon. The sun gets eaten up into the Indian Ocean. Its gonna be such a spectacular view! Woots.
Thank god for the good weather that day.
And Tanah Lot is popular among tourists and locals. Alot of tourist = Alot of locals selling stuff. HAHA. So, pls manage your expectations. Its gg to be crowded.
There is a temple situated in the sea.
Seriously, how to establish a temple on the rock in the middle of the sea when the waves are so strong?
Its crashing waves everywhere.
(Its getting low tide btw)
Anyway, you can imagine it being a stand alone mighty island during high tide.The temple is only accessible during low tide. It was built most probably in the 15th century by a priest called Nirartha with the help of the fishermen of the area.
What a beautiful place.

The coast line is beautiful of course with crashing waves and the rocky shore carved by millions of years.
The view of Tanah Lot temple and other adjoining structures were reallllllly breathtaking.

Spot the crowd at the platform in the picture? they are waiting to cross and visit the temple. I didnt want to dirty my sandals and i can imagine 100 ppl wandering around the smaller temple, so i gave it a miss.
Big wave splashing. Temple on a rock. Amazing and beautiful is an understatement.
I don't think my pictures even do it justice. i apologise. Please do not miss the chance to see this.
We are still early for sunset, So both of us walk around in the areas.
Lots of shops selling souvenirs (very cheap!), food, drinks etc.
The weather is so humid and hot that i have to find a way to tie up my maxi.
I bought magnets (whats new!), key chains and took a rest at some restaurant enjoying my coconut drink. I lost count of how many coconut juice i drank. SO DAMN YUMMY! Its cheap, cooling and healthy.
I would suggest you reach there early, walk around the beach. Take a little rest at the restaurants.
W went back to the beach at 545pm. Rmb, the sun begins to set from 6pm. You need to witness the entire process!
(I bought one pack of flowers from a little girl for $1 SGD. There's 10 flowers in a pack. God knows what i should do with the remaining ones. HAHA)

Check out the ppl behind me. Its v crowded. If you are really into photography, be there early to grab a good vantage pt.
No complains though, it's only human nature to see beautiful things.
oh, i must mention this.
There are alot of vendors asking you if you want to get your picture taken by a professional photographer every 5 minutes. Well, i just smile at them, "No thanks" and points to my DSLR.
That will do it. Then again, they are really just trying to make a living.

Be careful standing on the rocks. Its v slippery.
Good things are worth the wait. This is the reason why ppl insisted coming here to witness sunset.

This is unlike any other temples you see in Bali. (rmb i mentioned that temples in Bali has the cone like structure? Tanah Lot doesnt) I guarantee you will not regret coming here.
Tanah lot = Temple with the tides and rocks, and one of the most beautiful sunset. It was absolutely gorgeous!
Its not v cloudy. Totally awesome sunset!
And you should leave before the sun gets totally swallowed up.

Why? Everyone comes here for sunset rmb?
Can you imagine the traffic after its dark?
I read alot of reviews that the traffic is insane cause everyone is leaving at the same time. It seems to be that there are no street lights btw.
I have made dinner reservations at Sardine restaurant and i dont wanna be late.
Its time to leave. You have witnessed your life's most beautiful sunset. HAHA.
Once again, rmb to visit Tanah Lot! Its really worth the hassle and time to come here. (:
