Tasmania #Projectholiday

Consolidating all the layouts i did for my Tasmania #projectholiday is insane, so i shall split the post into different entries!

I have blogged in detail abt my Australia Tasmania trip. You can refer to the tags Sydney/Tasmania at the side bar. I have added a lot of journal tags to my #projectholiday and its rather easy for me to fill in the blanks by referring back to my old posts. HAHA.

I will share my cover page when my scrapbooking eyelets are here!

While I am v slow in updating my #projectholiday, i am currently at my 38th layout and i am finishing it alr!
Call that detail updating my holiday in scrapbooking style. I honestly thought i am very well-controlled.

I skipped printing alot of photos that i like!
 photo P1013903_zpsc4bc0123.jpg

First stop: Sydney!
And we finally saw the Sydney Opera house!
The outline of the Opera house is created via #cameosilhouette
 photo P1013904_zps6239a26f.jpg

Stayed in the area while the sun sets! And yes, that was created via #cameosilhouette as well. photo P1013905_zps61193d20.jpg

I realise the sun set in Sydney is super chio. I realised a lot of ppl posted some very amazing sun sets that they witnessed at the Sydney Habour Bridge. Or maybe its chio everyday.
HAHA.

 photo P1013906_zpsf9d527b6.jpg

Took a transit flight the next day and i used my cameo to create the outlines of Australia and Tasmania!
 photo P1013907_zps6cfe75e4.jpg

Used vellum and added sequins underneath.
 photo P1013908_zpsc5081e5d.jpg

First stop in Cradle Mountain; Dove lake Circuit
 photo P1013910_zps6341aaa8.jpg

Its really one of my favourite places in the world!
 photo P1013909_zpsadaf0bff.jpg

Night falls and we are exhausted. And hungry.I miss that yummy roasted chicken!

p/s: Its not obvious from the picture, but i added my accommodation brochure at the side. I did not complete sew up one of the side and slot in a brochure instead.
 photo P1013911_zps62d3b36f.jpg

Journal tags allow you to add alot more information to your #projectholiday. Or at least, thats how i did mine. Most used them for one layout for the #projectlife. haha.
 photo P1013912_zps28cba75a.jpg

Enchanted walk!
 photo P1013914_zps94096e15.jpg

Cradle Mountain Lookout!
 photo P1013913_zps64baad0a.jpg

And thats yours truly's only layout. HAHA.

Till the next scraps update! (:

Day 9 and 10 in Australia: St Helens to (St Columba Falls, Bridestowe Lavender farm, Launceston, Airport) Sydney, Singapore.

Finally, it’s time for the last post of my Tasmania travelogue. It took me close to 2 months to blog this trip down, after 4 months procrastination. That’s a record. Honestly, not an easy task. Considering the fact that I wasn’t the one who did the itinerary, I was a follower. I merely followed where my friends brought me to. I had to literally find the information from “scratch”, trying to understand the island, layout, route and plans we had in Tasmania. I even read up on the brochures I brought back from Tasmania in order to consolidate everything before penning them down.

I am doing them only because it is a habit of mine to blog down my travelogue as detailed as possible. I hope you find my travelogue useful, just like how I find the information from other ppl’s travelogue. I am happy reading other ppl's travelogue and learning about the experiences. Thanks for sharing. Its those post that make travelling easier.

While my travelogue is meant to serve as a memory of what I saw, what I did, how I go etc. it is also meant to share how awesome and beautiful Tasmania is; it is the perfect place for nature lovers. Go there and unwind.
 photo IMG_0688_zpsb20d9c32.jpg

I went Tasmania not knowing what to expect. I didn’t even print out the itinerary. I was that comfortable with what my friends had planned. Thus, everyday was a surprise! Yes, indeed.
 photo IMG_0691_zps074abea0.jpg
Its finally coming to an end. Thanks for reading them all!

The Bay of Fires has been luring holiday makers for decades. Named by ‘Lonely Planet’ in 2009 as the world’s hottest travel destination, the Bay of Fires has to be included on your Tasmanian holiday itinerary. Remember to come here! Perfect strands of beaches awaits you.

I would have enjoyed the place better, if the weather is better and if I wasn’t nauseous that day. I feel so miserable that day, I went to bed with just a little bowl of soup for dinner.

It was a sunny day on our last day. Maybe I should call it HOT. (Why didn’t we get this weather when we visit Wineglass Bay or Bay of fires? The awesome sunrays would have been the perfect background for my photos. My photos looked so gloomy due to the raining weather, its depressing.)
 photo IMG_0641_zpsf0e52558.jpg

Its our trademark to take jump shots everywhere. HAHA. There's so much joy involved taking jump shots.
 photo IMG_0649_zps0807c681.jpg
 photo IMG_0652_zps0cbf414d.jpg

Our shadows in the photos how hot the weather is. (I told you weather in Tasmania is unpredictable!)
 photo IMG_0661_zpscc18c1ab.jpg

All of participated in the jump shots photoshoot outside our little cottage!
 photo IMG_0671_zpsd6223beb.jpg
 photo IMG_0672_zps11f65e21.jpg

And my camera excluded Janice at the side while taking the shots. Hahahaah!!! photo IMG_0676_zpsc10c6390.jpg
 photo IMG_0677_zpsdb501edc.jpg

After several crazy attempts outside the cottage, we finally got the perfect jump shot! Everyone's pose is just epic.
 photo IMG_0682_zps675d2eed.jpg
#thingsyouthdo

Although I am in love with Tasmania, I cannot wait to go home! 9 days of constant travelling. Truth to be told, I am a little tired. I need a proper rest.

HAHAHAHA. One last look at all my moo moo, boo boo, hee hee!
 photo IMG_0694_zpsd7ae822f.jpg

Hello cow. No more Tasmanian mil to drink.

We head towards St Columba Falls which is 30 mins drive from St Helens. It is a very short walk.
 photo IMG_0695_zpsc4f97cf0.jpg

20-30 mins return track cause its just 600m one way. Personally, i think can skip this la. There's nth impressive. HAHAHA.

Although it is mentioned that the cascading waters of St Columba Falls plunge nearly 90 m from the Mt Victoria foothills to the valley of the South George River. Perhaps its the dry season in April, thus there is nth impressive. HAHA.
 photo IMG_0699_zps2868a43e.jpg
 photo IMG_0705_zpsf13a5496.jpg

Went for lunch at a very rustic restaurant, Puddle in a padlock. Sigh at the fact that only western is available in Tasmania. LOL. But food was nice though! There is no food in the new town.
 photo IMG_0713_zpsc9b49d71.jpg

 photo IMG_0708_zps7696efa3.jpg

Next, we head towards Bridestowe Lavender farm at Nabowla which is about 5km off the main road about 20km north of Lilydale. (if you are coming from Launceston, it’s a 45min drive!) Take the East Tamar Highway, and then turn right into Lilydale Road. Continue on to Golconda and follow the signs to the Bridestowe Lavender farm.

I highly recommend you to go if you happen to be in Tasmania during December till January. Its so pretty!!! I can so imagine the smell of it. The lavender begins blooming from December and is harvested in the first or second week of January - depending on the weather.
 photo IMG_0720_zpsfa667638.jpg

Because we are there in April, this is what you see. That’s so ugly.
 photo IMG_0718_zps065026c4.jpg

This is how it should look like!! The pretty and magnificent manicured fields of lavender! Its spectacular. I secretly think this is the most beautiful sight in Tasmania. HAHA.
 photo bridestoweheader_zpsdf58e480.jpg

It is perfectly okay if you don’t buy anything from their souvenir shop! You are allowed to take photos and walk around there. No entrance fees etc. (:
 photo IMG_0715_zps0ec5eb65.jpg

Since there is nth to do there when the lavenders are not in full bloom, we left and head for Launceston.
 photo IMG_0721_zps21558502.jpg

We made a short trip to see the Cataract Gorge. Cataract Gorge Reserve, or The Gorge as the locals call it, is a unique natural formation within a two-minute drive of central Launceston - a rare natural phenomenon in any city.
 photo IMG_0727_zps9a76069c.jpg

 photo IMG_0730_zpsc38c9d57.jpg

Take some pictures around there and its time to leave.
 photo IMG_0731_zps9126801c.jpg
 photo IMG_0734_zps7e78c346.jpg
 photo IMG_0735_zps9cca3585.jpg

 photo IMG_0736_zpsce338273.jpg

Signs of fall.
 photo IMG_0724_zps4a94ab79.jpg

Peacock!!! We dare anyone to provoke it to show its true colours. LOL.
 photo IMG_0723_zps403f3d55.jpg

When the sun sets, it’s time for our final destination. (That doesn’t sound very pleasant) -> Airport.
The sky looks as if it is on fire. HAHA.
 photo IMG_0740_zps4dad0f67.jpg

Rmb to return the car with just enough petrol for you to reach the airport! You took the car with no petrol. You return the car without petrol too.

Fun times in Tasmania has finally come to an end. T.T

The flight to get back leaves Launceston at 1935hrs, arriving in Sydney at 2110hrs. Head back to the hotel near the airport put down our bags. Took a quick dinner with kfc takeaway because its just beside the hotel.

Woke up the next morning and its turn to return home again! Its SQ flight, hello to blankets and inflght entertainment! 8 hours journey seems less daunting and dreadful.

Bye, Sydney.
 photo IMG_0756_zps3e30490a.jpg

 photo IMG_0759_zps7c7bdf5f.jpg

A good long break visiting another country and enjoy the cleanest air possible. Tasmania, you have been amazing.

 photo IMG_0761_zps723bea16.jpg

Korea awaits us in October 2014!

Wherever i go, home is still the best place. Hello Sunny little red dot. Singapore, I am home. (:
 photo IMG_0769_zpseafaac11.jpg

I cant wait to fly again. Which is er, next week!

I am finally flying to Beijing next week! So that marks a new travelogue. I completed what i set out to do. I finished my Tasmania travelogue just before I embark for a next trip!

Day 8 in Australia: Bicheno to St Helens (Bay of Fires)

Here is a little clarification on East Coast of Tasmania. I reckoned some of you may still be a little confused.
The fact that I only blogged abt my travelogue 6 mths ltr would only mean that I am doing the itinerary and finding information again.

Therefore, i will be able to uds that the previous post on East Coast may not be that clear. So, lets hope this post will clear things up! I have difficulty uds the name without the map initially.

There is a map of the East Coast and the towns i am referring to.
 photo regionmap_zps21fe7e30.gif
1. Triabunna. The start of your East Coast travelogue from Hobart. Go to the spectacular Maria Island to see the Painted Cliffs.

2. Swansea, a small little town. You can skip this town and head to Coles Bay for Wineglass Bay if you wish.

3. Coles Bay where you will go to the Freycinet National Park to see the one of the finest beaches on Earth; Wineglass Bay.

4. Bicheno, a small little town where you can go for the penguin tour.

5. St Helens, a place for you to discover the remote and spectacular beaches located at Binalong Bay and the Bay of fires.

Wherever you go, the East Coast offers you azure waters with pure white fine sand. Enjoy the blue, green and white colours that creates a beautiful picture.

Okay, i shall start with Day 8 of my travelogue! (I am finally finishing it. 100 marks for effort)

Breakfast! Some thick-waffle-like-toast which is too hard and not very appetising. Nope, thats not my portion. I dont like chucks of butter. HAHA.
 photo IMG_0343_zps395e4754.jpg

Macaroni and lobster soup!! Which is too fishy for my liking. HAHA.
 photo IMG_0344_zpsaa9d1f7b.jpg

Weather is getting so erratic in Tasmania, there is actually hail early in the morning. Hail is not fun. Its very loud and painful. Imagine stones dropping on your roof.
 photo IMG_0348_zpsb3fbe2f1.jpg
Pong, Pong, Pong!! above your head. I thought the roof will have a hole or sth. ROFL. Janice and WL actually went out to "enjoy" the rare hail which i was rather amused. But those were really small ones, so the impact is not that strong.

HAHAHA.

For your information:
Hailstones form when water drops in a storm are lifted by the updraft to the point where the air is below freezing, causing the water drops to freeze.

Snow forms as a result of water vapor in the air undergoing a process known as sublimation, where the water vapor transitions directly into a solid state, forming a crystalline structure.

A group pic in our little cottage before we leave!
 photo IMG_0352_zps5046af38.jpg

Penguins are blueeeeeeeeeeee.
 photo IMG_0361_zps0373884a.jpg

Head off to the coast for some fresh seafood! As mentioned previously, coast = strong winds. Not fun.
 photo IMG_0370_zpsd7a973ff.jpg

Hello bird. Are you feeling cold too?
 photo IMG_0376_zpsc283e6d2.jpg

 photo IMG_0377_zpsaea22463.jpg

Asking XX to piggy back is my new favourite activity. HAHAHAHA. A test to show I am still liftable. ROFL. Check out my footwear!!!

ITS EPIC. HAHAHA. I am inspired by Japanese footwear. HAHAHA. So funny!!!
 photo IMG_0379_zpsaa26a30f.jpg

Some of the things M1 does. ROFL.
 photo IMG_0392_zps237174d1.jpg

What is on the menu for brunch!
 photo IMG_0393_zps998e34cb.jpg

Oysters have a taste of the sea and i don know how to appreciate it. Its so fishy. XX's favourite though. HAHA.
 photo IMG_0395_zps64514890.jpg

Such nice skies!
 photo IMG_0397_zpsdcf34a04.jpg

This is what our lobster flesh looks like. Its nt very ex for our big lobster. Abt $90 Sgd? If i didnt rmb wrongly, its 1.2kg.
 photo IMG_0400_zps08e7bad5.jpg

Since its not an everyday thing that we get to eat such luxurious food, I must take a picture with it. Check out our hair.
 photo IMG_0409_zps2ab70cb8.jpg

Everyone is like scavenging for food. HAHA.
 photo IMG_0411_zpsaa99575b.jpg

Tell me why M1 dropped such a big piece of lobster flesh on the floor! Thats $3 SGD gone.
 photo IMG_0412_zpse82e3b60.jpg

Hello lobster, I apologise for having you in our stomach today. But you taste really good. HAHA.
 photo IMG_0423_zps4acf017d.jpg

I dont think i will ever appreciate oysters.
 photo IMG_0433_zpse8567e8a.jpg

Only the 3 of them know how to appreciate it. HAHA. Oh, its raining. I told you alr. Weather in Tasmania is crazy. You see the sun for 1 min then its raining another 3 mins ltr. The rest were seeking refuge in the car. HAHA.
 photo IMG_0436_zps328d6dab.jpg

Done with our luxurious meal and we are on the road travelling again!

Travelling time from Bicheno to St Helens: 1 hr 30 mins

Drive through St Mary’s and Scamander, heading up to St Helens.

St Helens is where the Bay of fires are. Its a series of beaches along the coastline with attracted tourists to go there. But the thing abt Tasmania is, even the supposedly tourist areas do not have alot of ppl. HAHA. You dont get to see ppl everywhere in this island.

On the way, we passed by Eureka fruit and berry farm.
Address: 89 Upper Scamander Road (1km off the Tasman Highway, just south of Scamander.)

Bought some strawberries, but they are not as nice as the ones we bought on the first day.
 photo IMG_0451_zps7532c9dd.jpg

Jam and honey i bought! Cause there is nth to buy in Tasmania. ROFL.
Oh, before i forget. Rmb to get all your magnets and souvenirs (postcards) in Hobart. The rest of the smaller towns may not have much variety or any souvenirs for you to buy anyway.

In short, Tasmania doesnt have anything to buy la. LOL.
 photo IMG_0453_zpsa6f3da0b.jpg

Saw a dog outside the shop!
 photo IMG_0454_zps6fd1665e.jpg

Because Tasmania has temporary make my phobia in the "off mode" for a while ever since we visited Bonorong Wildlife Sanctuary Centre.

I dk if i will ever have the courage to go near a dog and touch it again, so these photos are precious.
 photo IMG_0465_zpseb0a2fc8.jpg

 photo IMG_0466_zps90a6cc69.jpg

Since its a berry farm, so we ordered some desserts. Which is just mediocre. oops. They are a very friendly old couple managing their farm!
 photo IMG_0468_zps030110a4.jpg
 photo IMG_0473_zpsdd48af46.jpg

Hello dog!
 photo IMG_0474_zps392d7900.jpg

OMG at our footwear! Well, its a beaching day and I dont sand to go into my shoes. Hence, i decided to wear this. HAHAHA.

Day 8 is a beach-ing day. Bay of Fires = Beach only. Honestly, I don know we are going to enjoy when the weather is so cold. The last thing on my mind is to dip my toes into the water during the autumn-winter period. These are some of the things you have to give up when you travel during their cold seasons. photo IMG_0481_zps65f14f3b.jpg

Reached St Helens and checked in first, since the beaches are just in the vicinity!
 photo IMG_0687_zps5aa80dce.jpg

Address: 2 Tasman Hwy St Helens TAS 7216,
Tel: Australia +61 3 6376 1321
Price: $158 for the cottage

 photo IMG_0640_zps01e60c8e.jpg

 photo IMG_0639_zpsa589b998.jpg

 photo IMG_0638_zpsa1f8434e.jpg

When i see the pictures in Google Images, bay of fires is really beautiful with the clear waters when the weather good. Sun high up in the sky with blue sky as backdrop.

Too much clouds in the sky. not pretty.
 photo IMG_0502_zps6f8df3f6.jpg

Honestly, we happen to visit the place with gloomy skies and it certainly didnt lift up my mood at all. HAHA. Even the supposedly impressive Binalong Bay didnt really awe me anyway.

Luck places a major role in travelling.
 photo IMG_0507_zps68ca6d5f.jpg

You guys may wish to check out the Seatons Cove, Sloop Beach, Swimcart Beach and Cosy Corner.

 photo IMG_0488_zps53ae8842.jpg

The winds are so strong, its depressing.
 photo IMG_0513_zpsd1bf68f9.jpg

I like this picutre!
 photo IMG_0520_zpsd974f4b7.jpg

 photo IMG_0522_zps7d6cb03b.jpg

Our mode of transportation for the past 7 days!
 photo IMG_0525_zps477b4bcc.jpg

It was so cold, i only want to seek refuge in the car.
 photo IMG_0493_zps229c41a8.jpg

The cold weather killed all my mood.
 photo IMG_0495_zpsed8e1a87.jpg

Next off to the next beach to have a feel of the sand! See the little patches of damp sand? Tasmania has been constantly raining for the past 2 days. Boo!
 photo IMG_0533_zpsf43c050c.jpg

 photo IMG_0546_zps7016df31.jpg

 photo IMG_0547_zps2f5aa693.jpg

This is the best i can do in the weather.
 photo IMG_0549_zps6f0116e7.jpg

But look at what my friend did. OMG. I will just freeze in the water. HAHA. And yes, thats the shorts he wore for the day. LOL.
 photo IMG_0550_zps53a61ba4.jpg

Calm your mind.
 photo IMG_0552_zpscb4ee953.jpg

I am practising very hard for my eagle pose. One day, i will be able to curl my legs with ease. I shall have faith!
 photo IMG_1395_zpscaf221a7.jpg

And be happy!
 photo IMG_0561_zps1d99fdc6.jpg

I like light green waters. And how clean their beaches are. No rubbish. No oil deposits etc.
 photo IMG_0568_zps8de3bca5.jpg

Thats our lunch! Pre-packed because there's no food in the area. HAHA.
 photo IMG_0566_zps7355c743.jpg

This shot look so artistic!
 photo IMG_0571_zpsc8b699ac.jpg

Perhaps, one day i just go for a beach holiday! I know my foot wear is epic. Stop laughing. HAHA.
 photo IMG_1393_zpsc877ed63.jpg

Some of the things we find joy in doing. HAHA. I am laughing to myself as i see these pictures! A testimony that we are still young.
 photo IMG_0576_zpsf86ea8db.jpg

 photo 217089_10151449016197462_939602785_n_zps7c17c376.jpg

Head off to the next beach and we saw a raindow!!!!
 photo IMG_0589_zps693a52eb.jpg

Die die also must take a picture with the rainbow!
 photo IMG_0590_zps9919d9dc.jpg

A beach to ourselves. Which is very rare for a tourist attraction considering the fact that these beaches are what the town is well known for! HAHA.
 photo IMG_0595_zps61492be0.jpg

I love fine white sand and the sound of crashing waves against the shore. Its very relaxing.
 photo IMG_0615_zps190745fe.jpg

But truth is, all the beach looks the same after visiting a few. HAHA. I reckoned this is a great place to be walking along the coastline and leave your footprints behind you.
 photo IMG_0601_zps34378729.jpg

When you get bored, this is what you do.
 photo IMG_0603_zpse75b69fe.jpg
 photo IMG_0606_zps1714f001.jpg
 photo IMG_0607_zps521e1444.jpg

One day, my spine shall be straight doing this. HAHAHAHA. photo IMG_0611_zpsaa583f11.jpg

THIS IS SO FUNNY! Thanks for entertaining me, xx.

 photo IMG_0617_zpsfc4981c5.jpg

Did you see the very faint raindow behind us!!!! ^^
 photo IMG_0625_zps0817663b.jpg

I shall end this post with this photo! The strong winds causes the sand to fly and its not easy to take this photo at all.
   photo IMG_0628_zps54629c02.jpg

Head off to the next place which look so deserted, its the perfect place to bury a body after a murder or sth.
I think he is out of his mind. HAHAHA. SO COLD PLS.
 photo IMG_0636_zpseb0fee19.jpg

Perhaps its not a good idea to visit the beach during fall afterall.
 photo IMG_0632_zpsc5bcb00b.jpg

I am coming to the end of my travelogue! Just one more post!
