I am in an extremely good mood, so i decided not to be slack and do this review today!!

Ohvola is my holy grail shop.

Ohvola launch alot of lace/crochet/peplum tops which I absolutely love.
If you still haven realised, I am a victim for everything lace/crochet.

Oops, I did it again.
As always.

Its so serious, its becoming an illness. Lace crochet aren't exactly the easiest material to maintain in the world. If everything, they are ruined and destroyed easily. Before I know it, my crochet got hooked. This is it.

But I guess love is really sth hard to change or let go.
Follow my heart, It shall always be. (:

Love sth, Just do it. So, I carted.
Full of excuses for my love of almost everything similar of white crochet/lace.

But i swear, the next time I cart anything lace crochet, it wont be white anymore.

Ohvola Hathaway Crochet frock Size S and Size M in white.

Because, Crochet must be white. (ok, i promise, LAST WHITE CROCHET) Even though its a dress, and I know I am gg to look like a giant in it. I still itchy backside carted white, thanks to my stubborn belief. And, I knew its a right choice the moment I open my parcel.

SO PRETTY LEH.

I like how thoughtful ohvola was to include a side and back zip for easy wearing. A back zip is redundant unless you are a yoga person; Hello monkey with flexible long arms. HAHA. LOL.

Size S:

Sizing: Obviously, Size M is big for me. Its almost shapeless if you compare it to the size S dress I am wearing. Not to mention its loose at ptp and waist. There is a hole for my ptp. LOL.

Size S emphasize curves while Size M hides all your curves. (to each of your needs) Of course, size S is more unforgiving for the tummy. HAHAHA. oh wells.

For reference, I am 16.5" ptp and 26" waist. (:

The lining and the crochet are stretchy! Hence there lots of allowance and therefore, easier to fit in. I am a usual size M for ohvola clothes, so I would advise you girls to size down. Supposed you are a usual size S for ohvola, skip this dress. Its gg to be too big for you.

Material: Of course, Nuff'' said. Crochet are not meant to be lasting. If you are looking for sth lasting to be worn for a long long time, skip this dress too. You are not a crochet person.

Colour: Pure, pristine white.

Why is this dress not sold out yet? I wonder why.
I have been searching high and low for my perfect CNY dress. I thought I found my CNY dress when AA launched Piera Lace Bodice dress in red violet dress. Until I received the parcel and ripped it open excitedly, tried it and got really depressed.

Side track: AA Piera Lace Bodice dress in red violet dress: Its a shade i absolutely love. Deep rich wine red. But its painful for myself to look in the mirror in that dress. LOL. My bust look v weird in the dress. (T.T) Its so weird, everything seems so wrong. It emphasizes too much on my hips which makes my waist incredibly out of proportion. Overall, Its a failed dress for me. I thought, this is it. CNY is approaching soon and I wont have a CNY dress I like.

Until, I found my CNY dress!! HAHAHA.
Sth red/purple/wine/burgundy whatever to suit the CNY festive periods. Not huat or bright red else I have it difficult to wear it after CNY. Even though I am a red person.

Sizing: I am a usual size M build and this fit me like a glove. (YEAH!) Like the length, cause its not too long nor short for me. Visit relatives must leave good impression not to wear anything too short. LOL.

Material: Initially, I didnt want to purchase this cause the dress was made of chiffon. (I dont really like chiffon material now. Too flimsy/thin for my liking. I guess taste will really change with age.) Probably because I have bought some really soft and light weight chiffon from Ohvola before. They are so soft, they reminds of me baby skin. Which threatens to tear anytime. LOL. But this dress is not meant from the baby-soft-like chiffon I used to buy. So I guess its still passable. HAHA.

Which really surprises me is the leather panel used along the waist line and the front of the bust line.
So unique pls. LOL. Its a little hard to zip with some pt due to the leather, which it can still be zipped. LOL.

Lace; Not exactly the kind I fancy. In fact, I hate this kind of lace. Cause this is too thin and flimsy. But a thicker lace wont look good in this design and it will look really weird.

Looks really ugly when I took a close up shot, but I swear its really a nice dress to own!
So overall, this dress is mega love with the design and material used.

Cant wait to wear it out! (:

TVD launch a similar piece called the Raw-hem lace flare dress. I wanted to purchase that, but thank god I didnt. Cause the colour combi doesnt appeal to me. The waist portion is made using ribbon like material which totally turn me off. LOL. HAHA.

SMooch Jacquard.

I have taken these review photos one week ago, but i was too lazy to get the review done. LOL.

This is supposed to be my 12th peplum in my wardrobe. I have a lot of ppl telling me that I need a change and there are really too many peplum tops hanging in my wardrobe. I am in need of a severe wardrobe help if one day, peplum tops are too crazy to be worn out.

Then again, I doubt my clothes will last that long for that day to happen any time soon and we all should wear whatever we like most. So, reason justified and therefore,  I can proceed with peplum shopping again.

SMooch Jacquard Peplum Top in Yellow, size S
First, I have alr sold this top away. The fact that this is gg to be my 12th peplum means it only deserve a slot in my wardrobe IF i love it 100%. Else, no reason to keep it okay. (at least, I am still clear minded despite my crazy craze for all things peplum)





Sizing: Size S is very flattering for me! Pls proceed with buying. HAHAHA. Peplum tops are meant to emphasize your waist and flare out from there. Its stretchy, hence fits to the curves nicely.

Colour: I nv regretted purchasing the peplum in this colour. Even though it really seems a little weird choice. Black and white are too boring colours for a basic like peplum (well, you cant see the Jacquard baroque material form afar) The red peplum doesnt go very well with the black patterns.

In my most humble opinion, Yellow is honestly, the best choice out of the 4 after a round of elimination. HAHA. When i opened the parcel, its really nicer than i thought.

No, its not gold as seen on studio photos. Or bright neon yellow as seen in my photos either.
Its sort of lime yellow prints with brown baroque patterns. Its really not as bad as I first thought.

Material: The dramatic texture baroque material makes the top very unique.The yellow and brown colours coming tgt makes the top one of a kind.

Anyway, jacquard baroque material spells sophisticated and lux. Turning the board around, i would say its the thick and almost rough surface reminds me of a curtain. LOL.

Honestly and seriously, I am not kidding. HAHAH. Or maybe its just me thinking too much.



Perhaps the thick material which makes the top non sheer at all, make SMooch team do away with the lining. Not that its essential, but a top of such material may just threaten me to scratch all over on a hot day. HAHAHA.

SMooch Jacquard Circle Skirt in Black, size S.




Very feminine. Very girly.

In fact, this skirt will easily hit my favourite skirt at the moment, cause i have a skater skirt craze lately. LOL. (although i should say bandage-cut skirts should be  my top priority, given the no of peplum tops i have in my wardrobe now)

But, i am not sure if i will really like the material in the long run, so i decided to put it up for sale. Suppose nobody wants it, then i will keep it. HAHAHA.

You see, a skater skirt is just as versatile as any high waist skirt. (i really like high waist skirts!) High waist skirt flatters your waist and hides your bulging hips. If anything skater, skirt spells cute due to the wide-circle-swirl-like cut when you turn/spin.

Sizing: I followed the sizing the model wear and the fitting is perfect. Not too tight for me to feel uncomfortable. Its slightly stretchy!

Material: Skirts must be lined. Pls be anal abt the fact that skirts must be lined. In case of any mishaps happening that your auntie decided to make an impromptu visiting for the day. At least the lining acts as a thin barrier before all hell break loose. Make sense?

Perhaps the fact that its lined and there are no 2 colours coming tgt in a print makes it less curtain-ish. HAHAHA. Or perhaps, i over think again.

Everything lace and peplum.

I decided to spend time and do a bit for reviews instead. even though i bought way more things.
I cant even bring my heart and mind to go count the amt of clothes/things i bought ytd.
Its just, unbearable. I am such a shopaholic this mth.

I have been extremely disciplined in the mth of November. But i guess, disciplinary veronica is not here to stay.

SMooch Clara Crochet top in White, size M




This top falls in the category of impulsive buys.
I saw the preview at 858pm. Decided to buy at 859pm. Refresh at 9pm. Cart out and made payment by 902pm.

That must be the fastest time recorded i decided to buy sth. Then again, i have an explicit love for anything lacey. Sadly, they are not very lasting items to have in the wardrobe. they get hooked onto things so very easily. even bra hooks are not spared. LOL. your heart totally sinks to the ground when you realise you hooked onto sth.

I have like, alot of lace tops and I am still buying them - in white.
Lace has to be in white. Pristine white, the pure and dainty colour.

And i shall repeat this. perhaps trying to give myself some excuse into buying the-same-old-white-lace-top again. None of my lace tops have the same lace. They are all different version of lace. Different cutting of tops.

Design:
Features a U shape scooped neckline - hmm, it seems to make me look super muscular in photos.
The lace used is not the usual floral design. It has v soft swirl like lace with v cute pompom lining the outline of the top.

Did I mention that lace tops should be and must be fully covered in lace??
Not lace in front and chiffon at the back - AS IF FACTORIES NOT ENOUGH LACE.
Sorry, I am very particular abt that.

I am glad this top is fully covered in lace. LOL. As of all my other lace tops.

Sizing:
hmm, the arm hole is a little small for my huge arms. LOL. its a little restrictive, although not to the extend of uncomfortable. the side zip is redundant for me, i can wear it easily without unzipping. (which means, this is not a slim fit, body hugging fitted lace top)

overall, it fits the bill of a casual top for the weekend, not tight/fitting at tummy, ptp.

pls buy this top! HAHA.

Lace top from Love and Bravery, size M






I wanted to go look for the name of this top and realise there wasnt any. So i figured that this top is not launched online yet. Cause i saw some dresses on the website just launched recently when i saw them in the shop last week.

Okay, this lace top is currently ranked No.1 in my mountain sea of lace white tops.
Simple, I like the floral crochet used in the top.


Well, I have a similar crochet floral lace top. But the crochet used is not quite the same and due it kind lost all its former glory - it got loose and the crochet is not as nice as before alr. Its those crochet that will sag/elongated with prolonged wear or wash. Crochet like these! They dont last, due to a higher knit content perhaps?

Then it got replaced with sth stronger crochet (they probably include like 10% threads of polyethene to make it more plastic-y and sturdy.

This lace used is not the soft lace you see in bras. Only my Ohvola romance lace tops is made from those kind of flimsy-soft-english lace. This crochet is a tad stronger (they probably include like 10% threads of polyethene to make it more plastic-y and sturdy. which doesnt sag as much as the old crochet.


Note:
I didnt want to buy this top initially. While I was checking the top for defects at the store, I am depressed abt the fact that i cant zip it up smoothly. I almost gave up and came out of the store empty handed. But shopaholic me decided to just heck and buy the top. LOL. Its too pretty to give this a miss.

To my horror when i tried it today, i can zip it up easily when i tried to wear it. But when i remove it and tried zipping it by its own, its v difficult to zip it up. I reached a very disturbing conclusion that the top likes my back. HAHAHA.

The moral of the story is to try the lace top you are buying should the zip gives you problem..

Sizing: I got it in size M. very fitting for Ptp. the lining is a little tight for me, making it a little hard to remove the top. its not to the extend that i cant breathe comfortably in it, you just feel there is a presence of sth hindering your movements at times. LOL.

Ohvola Chloe Jewel Peplum top in creme, size M




Honestly, i prefer a smaller cut. I went to cart it from Ohvola again! LOL.




Okay. this top is v v v v well made.
in fact, i really really love the dainty collar.

Design: 
The pearls, jewels are all sew on. Not flimsy glued to the top tht threatens to drop when you wash them. Very classy. Very pretty.

Colour:
The colour is very off. Its not what i have in mind. This shouldnt be called creme. it should be called khaki.
On the other hand, black coloured version is pretty. but i think the white pearls seems too harsh on the black coloured top. i reckoned thats the reason why its still not sold out yet.

If anything, black coloured is just a better colour to have other than the creme coloured version. LOL.

Material:
I nv reviewed the SMooch Jewelled peplum top- cause i was lazy. HAHAHA.
But, SMooch says the top was made of thick quality polyester and spandex blend. Honestly, if that thin like material is good. Then the material Ohvola used for this top is super thick and quality polyester material. HAHAHA.

Sizing:
hmm, it didnt fit me nicely. loose at waist, not fitting at ptp. i like my peplum tops to be fitting at waist and ptp to ensure it gives the flattering look. like, the picture shown in picture 3. honestly, this top didnt fit me nicely.
my arms cant even fit the arm hole nicely. there is a hole. 0.O LOL!! why. probably because the ptp is slightly big on me as well.

Its slightly stretchy, so i know size S will probably fit me good since size M is a little loose on me. As such, i went to cart size S. LOL.

Really, this top is very well made. I like the design, the collar and the material used.
In fact, i went to cart out the top again, in black size S. LOL.

yes, i know. i said black is too harsh. but i didnt paid for it eventually cause there is this 10% of me which dont really like the colour. and i didnt wanna risk not being able to sell off this creme pc and end up with 2 colours instead.

i shall not be impulsive and buy sth that i didnt like it 100%. maybe they will launch it again in other colours. LOL.

so the thing with working means heading to town to relax for the weekend.
well, staying at home seems the last thing on my mind, especially when work is alr so mentally stressed. heading out to relax and breathe in fresh air seems the next logical thing to do.

go around HM, go to F21, go to random shops for window shopping.

basically, as much as i loathe gg to town.
but there is really nth i can do leh?

except to go for window shopping, catch a movie, eat dinner at our favorite restaurant.
and the day is gone just like that.

oh, not to mention, a hole in the wallet cause we went out that weekend. LOL.

usually Saturdays are meant to be town roaming days.
Sundays are bean curd making at my house and running at the park with XX.

yup, my weekends are usually planned out and scheduled.

The cream chesse is a tad sweet. but there are hardly any red velvet cakes available in town!! anyone has any recommendations? maybe i should just head to PS cafe for my favourite carrot cake. LOL.

Sauteed Brioche French Toast with Caramelised Bananas.

this dish is really meant for sharing. nvm abt the potion, the Sauteed Brioche French Toast is really awesome on the first bite, its crisp, v slight crunchy.

but, the fact that its mixed with caramelised sauce makes the entire dish a little too overwhleming to finish it by its own.

therefore, i suggest you share the dish! my first toast taste really good. the second toast is making me full and the third toast just makes me sick. LOL. i am so relieved XX is there to help me finish the food. LOL.

but, i really like this though! its an awesome dish for the sweet tooth.
i shall admit that i have double standards for all things sweet. LOL.
 

The thick slices of Brioche consist of a layer crushed cornflakes to give the crunchy bite.
i like how the cold vanilla ice cream is served with the hot Brioche! hot meets cold is heavenly.

fresh berries added for your dose of antioxidants. did i say berries is my next favourite fruit? usually its 2 boxes per week.

maybe it would be better if they cut the amt of sugar used in the dish. LOL.


i am happy to see food. i am sooooooooooooooooo hungry!!!

LB Tatler Trench Coat in cream, size M

trench coat - absolutely essential winter wear.

i have been searching for a trench coat. i have been keeping my eyes open to look out for one in Taiwan, but i couldn't find one that i like. le sigh. one for my to-do-list in Taiwan is to find one trench coat that i like.

its not easy to find one in Singapore. cheap ones are ugly and nice ones of expensive. end of story.

so when i know LB is coming up with a trench coat, i know i have to get it.
as much as i understand quality comes with price, i bought the coat cause its only $69. HAHA.

those coats that i really like cost at least $120 at Taipei SOGO, wool % is high but i didnt have the time to slowly single out and find one i like. saw a few coats at forever new, but there isnt a darker shade to the coat i want. else i would have bought it, despite the price tag of $169. LOL.

truly, accept the fact of quality = costly. esp for trench coat. and no, you cannot save on such stuffs.
if you are freezing, you will be v willing to spend $200 for a good coat. LOL. dont save on such money, especially if you are gg to places that hit 0 degrees.

i dont intend to wear my trusty columbia jacket anymore, so i must find one trusty coat! columbia coat too manly for my liking alr!! LOL. although the 2 layers fleece and raincoat-like outer layer really keeps me v warm. but i managed to destroyed it while cleaning it due to the colour run. i am so relieved that my bro didnt take a knife and kill me. HAHAHA.

the search must continue, until i find a perfect, pretty trench coat!

LB Tatler Trench Coat in cream, size M








Sizing: my rule of thumb is to size up for coats. it must be able to allow me to wear 2 layers of thick knit wear or 3 thinner layers. (thermal wear, lamb fur top, long sleeves fleece tops) HAHAHA.

(a really good thermal wear (top and bottom) cost $100 after discount at universal traveler  my coll wore it in sub zero conditions and it kept her v warm. she only wore 4 layers. good stuff comes with a hefty price tag)

ok, i wore my top and blazer with the coat and it feels a little restricted for me at arms. so i remain hopeful that 3 layers of tops should be able to fit in and move my arms. (snug is better than too loose, else wind gets in and the cold is grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr, worse X10.)

supposed you don button it, you can probably wear more layers. (sleeveless fleece tops/jacket/est perhaps?)

omg, this is a classic example of how i look like a kid in adult wear if i dont button it.. (X10 more kua zhang than what i experienced in blazers. LOL)

reminder to self, button it if i wear it out. its not a coat meant to unbotton it.

the coat is meant to be flare cut. (a little too flare for me?) you either hate it or like it. i cant say i exactly hate it, cause i think i look really cute in it, like a little girl in a dress that look like a coat. the outfit is gg to be complete with fleece stockings! if that is gg to be the only bottom you are wearing (pls buy fleece stockings, not 80 denier stockings. yes, there are fleece stockings. there is a difference.)

if you still feel cold, or wanna wear jeans and its not loose enough for you to keep you warm at legs, here is a tip. wear stockings with your stocking/jeans! 80 denier stockings are thin and thick enough and they kind of block the wind too. (its a contradicting statement)

thin - stockings are thin.
thick- 80 denier belongs to the thicker stockings alr. but still thin compared to fleece stockings.

well, at least its double layered. my colleagues tried it and it works. LOL.

Colour: cause i think cream is the nicest out of the 4 colours launched. black looks really formal.

this cream colour is a perfect shade. the colour i always like an preferred. its such a nice colour, i nv regretted my decision buying it. even mama commented that the colour is nice.

but my heart suffers from trauma the moment i dirtied it. beauty is costly indeed. oh wells. i am just too vain. cream really nice ma. i swear my perfect coat shall be a dark coloured shade. HAHAHA.

Material: v v v v soft. its so soft and comfy, i can slp in it. although i have to admit, i have seen better coats with a higher wool % that will promise to keep me warm. of course, those are more expensive.

P/s:
Dont ask me if this is gg to be warm enough for you. everyone has different threshold towards cold and they highly depends on where you are heading.

for me, i love cold weathers, BUT i must be kept v v v warmth. LOL. HAHA. i am just weird as such.

and oh, wind speeds are v impt too. some places are not cold, but the winds are deadly. i almost freeze into a block of ice in Xi'an when its only 6 degrees when there is this deadly, fast and furious cold winds there. i dont even feel cold when it was 0 degrees in Lan Zhou. LOL.

and oh, buy mask to wear for your nose. its good to prepare one in your bag. (: esp if you are gg to really cold places. HAHAHA. my body may be kept warm, but my nose nearly dropped in Lan Zhou, cause the air is so dry. LOL!! there sheer 37 degrees in temperature difference is too much for my nose to take it.

if you are just gg to Hong Kong/Taiwan in december, don worry so much.
a coat + 2 thin layers max should be enough to keep you warm alr!
